I have been wanting to do a session at the Navy and Merchant Marine Memorial since we moved to Arlington. For a week in April there are red tulips surrounding the monument, and it's a stunning display! Between the tulips, the views across the Potomac and the dogwoods along the path to the memorial, this location is incredible for family portraits. Also, it's a less known/visited monument in the DC area, so we had the place to ourselves. In summer and fall the memorial is surrounded by red canna lilies. If you are interested in this location for your family photos, reach out early so I can apply for a permit through the National Park Service.
I met the J Family in 2020 during The Front Steps Project. It's so fun to have that connection with families here in Arlington, VA. We had the moodiest blue clouds on this day - gorgeous!
