Front Steps Project: Arlington Comes to an End

Behind the scenes photos by Spencer Strebe.
Earlier this year I participated in The Front Steps Project - a movement made up of hundreds of photographers around the world who photographed families living in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project raised over 3.3 million dollars for food pantries, animal shelters, front line workers, local hospitals and more. The FSP demonstrates that even in the most challenging of circumstances, incredible kindness, love, courage, and hope exist to build, bind, and connect communities around the globe. Over 100 families in Arlington participated from March to June, raising over $13,000 for local charities! For the holiday season I revived the project by taking Front Steps portraits for families who donated to Virginia Hospital Center Foundation. VHC has been there for our neighborhood during a difficult time, and we wanted to show our support for their mission to provide the best healthcare to those most in need.
The Holiday Front Steps Project raised over $6000 for VHC Foundation, bringing our total raised this year to over $19,000! Thank you to the 91 families that participated! And if you'd like to make a donation, here is the link:

In November The Front Steps Project book came out! I'm thrilled to be featured on page 100 with my photo of Nancy and Luis of Arlington. You can pick it up at our local bookstore: One More Page Books.

The holiday project was featured in the Sun Gazette in December! You can read the beautifully written article by Brian Trompeter on Inside NOVA.
